Reza Mirkarimi was born in Tehran in 1966.he was graduated from fine arts university in graphic arts. His activities in cinema started with a short film named for him 16mm then he continued to make short films such as rainy day& a rooster .Then he went to television and made TV series such as Adventures MRS Aziz & Hemmat school kids. He also has made 2 documentaries named From football to football and Champions for wrestling for TV station.
His first feature film experience The child & the soldier in 1999 this film brought him several local and international awards includeing the silver balloon 3 continent festivals, Nant in France 2000 and the golden shoe from children and teenagers festival in Zelin 2001.
Under the moon light produced in 2001. The story begins when Seyyed Hassan, a young seminary student, is preparing to don the clerical attire. While the other students are also busy with similar preparations, Seyyed Hassan's supplies are stolen by a small boy. To identify the culprit, Seyyed Hassan sets out for the suburban area where he meets people who have never met a cleric and know nothing about the clerical profession. Under such unfamiliar circumstances, Seyyed Hassan acquires a new understanding of society and human beings.

A cube of Sugar the story happens in an old house in an old city of Iran. Because of the wedding of the youngest sister, Pasandide, all of her sisters come to their old house to help their mother. They are couple of stories are going on all together. Pasandideh the youngest girl in a traditional family who is living with her family and relatives including her mother, her old uncle, and aunt. They live in a traditional old house in an old city. She supposed to marry soon to an old family friends' grandson who is student in a western country. Everything is already arranged for marriage and all of her sisters arrive to the old house one by one.
The Hamid and Hormoz story: Hormoz, husband of Pasandideh's sister who recently is released from prison, with the aim of Hamid (husband of another sister of Pasandideh) are trying to find the treasure who they believe is buried in some parts of this old house once the marriage ceremony is going on.
