Asremrooz - Iran to install new long-range radar on destroyer

Iran plans to install a new phased-array long-rang radar dubbed 'Asr' (Era) on one of the Navy destroyers soon, said Head of the Iranian Navy Industrial Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization Admiral Ali Gholamzadeh

TEHRAN (Asremrooz):'Asr' radar is being manufactured by Navy Industrial Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization, Gholamzadeh said, adding radar evasive destroyer known as 'Sahand' would be launched soon.

He further added presence of Iranian Navy warships across the high seas shows Iran's might.

"We have changed the missiles of the world and optimized them. We have expanded their range and empowered their target-hitting capability," he said, adding 'Lavan' and 'Damavand' destroyers would be unveiled in coming months.
