Iranian students awarded in int'l math Olympiad

Two Iranian students at Sharif Poly Technique University won medals in the 14th International Mathematics Olympiad held in central Iranian City of Isfahan.


TEHRAN (Asremrooz): The two Iranian university students Nima Heidari and Masoud Shafaei-Abr ranked 1st and 4th in the competition, wining gold and bronze medals.

The Olympiad competitions were held in Persian language and literature, Islamic theology, economics, education, law, physics, biology, mathematics and statistics.

The math competitions were held on August 13-14 in mathematic analysis, numerical analysis, linear algebra, algebra and operation research.

16 top Iranian university professors as well as 12 foreign professors engaged in correcting the papers.
